I have to admit, this assignment was one of the toughest. I call it one because it was a great challenge and for me to interview the head of the personnel department of our adopted organization, The Ateneo de Davao University, Mr. Esmeraldo Lampauog. But we were able to finish it on time, thanks to Mr. Lampauog.
As what he said, Human Resource depends on the nature of the company. It can either be HRM, Human Resource Management or HRD, Human Resource Development. It can also be the combination of the two which is the HRMD, Human Resource Management and Development. none the less, these two categories are the same when it comes to giving benefits to their employees. These include hiring/staffing, training and developing, coaching and compensating their employees. He also said that a good management, especially the head of the department must know everything about the company/organization so that he/she understands every process from the lower to the upper part of the ladder. And if the head understands all of this, he/she also understands the work of the employees. Thus, enabling the head to know if there is lacking or if there is something wrong. And tracking if their employees are still at their interest and if these employees need help and development.
I personally agree with him, because in order to have good relations with your constituents, it is far better if you have started from the lower part before jumping to high levels. Managing the employees surely gives them a good place to work and makes them to be more productive. And I think thats one thing that I do not have.
